Our matriarch of pure Arab extraction, the one and only Lady Liberty is one of our many Hartswater auction survivors that we rescued on that fateful day in the Northern Cape province of South Africa back in February 2017. As with the other 37 horses and 336 donkeys that we rescued that day, Lady Liberty went under the hammer for her meat and we acquired her by the kilogram. The weary old girl was walked onto the scales by her former custodian, an elderly farmer gentleman as he gently pattered her on her neck and thanked her for all her years of loyal service.
The old dame had unfortunately sustained significant impact wounds to both her front knees - quite possibly on auction day that have since calcified. While her mobility is limited, she loves her food and her sunny days at the pasture in our Special Needs Unit. She loves attention, apples and carrots and thoroughly enjoys her pamper sessions at the KDS mobile Spa.
Lady lib requires special needs care, lucern, concentrates, feed supplements and supplementary hay.
