Flicka and Mustang Sally

Flicka and Mustang Sally were rescued from a life of abuse in a rural township in Prince Albert in the Great Karoo region of South Africa. Flicka was emaciated at the time was being ridden hard while her newborn foal, Mustang Sally, was only a few weeks old. Mustang Sally also got herself caught in fence and it took an amazing team in Prince Albert 2 days to find her. She had very deep wounds, but was relieved to be reunited with her mom. Mustang Sally’s wounds have healed nicely and she is now a yearling. Mustang Sally and her mamma Flicka spend their days in our special care unit. Flicka often gets overwhelmed amongst a larger herd of horses and she prefers the quieter life amongst our elderly horses.
