Harissa

Harissa is one of our many Hartswater auction survivors that we rescued on that fateful day in the Northern Cape province of South Africa back in February 2017. Harissa and her 3-day old foal Dennis (a mule) went under the hammer for their meat (as did all the rest we saved that day) and all were acquired by the kilogram. Harissa and Dennis are now living their best lives with us as integral members of our main horse herd of 35 rescues. Harissa very sadly had her right eye gauged out with a stick during the rough handling at the auction. Harissa is an elderly lady and she suffers from multiple joint issues. She needs her daily concentrates, supplementary feed and special care
